Sunday, July 26, 2009 (tentative) The St. Albert triathlon is one of the most popular sprint Triathlons in Alberta boasting a long history of multisport fun. For training information a great site to visit is Trinewbies.com Results: 2003 Sprint 2003 Try-a-tri 2004 Results 2005 Results 2006 Results 2007 Results 2008 Results Rules: The St. Albert Triathlon is an ATA Sanctioned Event and so follows the official rules governing all sanctioned events. The direction of the volunteers must be adhered to at all times. Disrespect toward volunteers, race officials or other athletes will not be tolerated and may result in immediate disqualification. The Course Swim: 750 meter pool swim (25 meter pool) 15 laps or 30 lengths Swim caps will be provided and must be worn. Wet suits are not allowed. Check in at poolside 30 minutes prior to heat start time. Bike:20km out and back course. Helmets are mandatory and must be worn while in possession of your bike. Bare torsos are not permitted. Race number bibs to be worn on your back during the bike portion. Drafting is not permitted. Bikes must be walked through transition to bike start on Sir Winston Churchill Ave. Volunteers will be at the turn-around to guide you and record race numbers. Bike MapRun: 5 km flat run. Race number bibs to be worn on the front for the run portion. Single loop course exiting the transition area left onto Cunnigham Road running on sidewalk. Run through the driveway in front of Paul Kane School and continue on the sidewalk on Cunningham Road. Turn left onto Hebert and run on the street edge following the pylons. There is a short out and back through park area at the 2 km point. Volunteers will be at the turn around to record race numbers. Aid station will be at the 2.5 km mark where you will turn left onto Fraser running on the sidewalk. Run to the end of Fraser and turn left onto Sir Winston Churchill, running on the sidewalk in the shade. Turn left on Fairview which will take you to park area. The park trail will take you behind Fountain Park Pool to the finish line. Water will be available at the finish line. Run Map Showers, lockers and hot-tub are available at the pool. Show race number at office. Tri a Tri Try a Tri is a shortened version of the same race on the same course, designed for beginning athletes who want to try the sport. Rules, requirements and benefits are the same as the full length race Swim: 250 meter pool swim (25 meter pool) 5 laps or 10 lengths 10 km out and back course. Run: 2.5 km flat run.
Divisions 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+, AWAD (Athletes with a disability), Tri-A-Tri.
